ACLP logoStream 1 – Entry to Child Life Practice

Provides academic and clinical training including two clinical internships, to prepare students with knowledge, clinical skills and professional behaviours to practice as entry-level child life specialists. This is a full time, two-year professional course-based program. Stream 1 has earned graduate endorsement through the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). Graduates of this stream will meet child life professional certification eligibility requirements.

 

Stream 2 – Advanced Skills in Pediatric Psychosocial Care

Provides health professionals with advanced practice skills in pediatric psychosocial care, in a course-based format to enhance their practice. This stream can be taken part time (1 year) or full time (2 to 4 years). Those applying for this stream should have qualifications as a health professional.

**Individuals interested in becoming a certified child life specialist (CCLS) should apply to our ACLP endorsed Stream 1 program. Stream 2 does not provide all requirements needed to certify.**
